No Matter Who

No matter who you voted for and no matter what you think about the incoming or outgoing Presidents, you should celebrate the Inauguration on Tuesday.

At Noon on January 20th, Barack Obama will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States, George W. Bush will go home to Texas having served for eight years in what most people would call the most powerful and challenging leadership position in the world and for the 43rd time in our history, there will be a smooth transition of power from one leader to another.

Presidents Clinton and Bush were both at the leading edge of the Boomers and President-elect Obama is at the younger end of the spectrum. Three Boomers in a row have lead our country, for good or bad, and this will likely be the end of that reign. Let's make the most of it.

Bruce Springsteen is one of many performers playing on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial this afternoon. I happened to be there yesterday when he was rehearsing with a choir:

Well-written piece. Relevantly, as many nationally influential voices have repeatedly noted, Obama is part of Generation Jones, born 1954-1965, between the Boomers and Generation X. Google Generation Jones, and you'll see it’s gotten a lot of media attention, and many top commentators from many top publications and networks (New York Times, Time magazine, NBC, Newsweek, ABC, etc.) are specifically referring to Obama, born in 1961, as part of Generation Jones.

Very well said. What an awesome experience it must be to be living in the DC area! And to be around all of those great musicians! I'm so jealous!
